The Station Inn - Colwyn Bay

Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience at this restaurant, despite the food being nice. I advised the server when ordering about my egg allergy and was advised that there are not many things on the menu with eggs in and was reassured the food I had ordered was safe to eat (plus a note was written on the order for the kitchen). The starters were fine. For the main, I had ordered a salmon dish with salad, bulgur wheat and tzatziki. When the dish arrived, the sauce that was brought out didn’t look like tzatziki, so I asked what it was and the server took it away and said it was tartare sauce (which of course contains eggs!). They did apologise but didn’t really appear to grasp the severity of the situation, they didn’t offer anything on the house or for the meal to be taken off the bill which is probably the least they could’ve done. It is quite shocking that the chef saw the note about the allergy but still served this dish to me. Thankfully I checked and didn’t eat it (luckily) but I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend here for those who have allergies.
