Where to start with this venue, all I can really say is thank you. The staff are truly superb with allergens and I personally think it is the most relaxing and safe place to eat in Durham. Upon arrival you’re greeted with a stunning building, inside and out. However, the main event for us allergy types waits inside. The staff ask if anyone has any allergies they should know about, which they then accommodate without fuss. You’re given a card to note your needs on, are assigned your own table waiter and they alone bring your meals. I have even been told that the kitchen (granted it’s when it’s quieter) can adapt some of the meals you’d like upon request. Overall it makes for a quality dining experience, without making you feel like you’re anything more than a member of the party enjoying their time out. Definitely worth a visit.

The menu is relatively slim in terms of choices, so definitely look into it before travelling!

Just wanted to share an amazingly positive experience at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill Durham restaurant within Hotel Indigo Durham. I contacted the restaurant a couple of hours before we arrived to advise of my son's allergies (peanut, treenuts, sesame and kiwi) and very quickly received the most reassuring reply I could have imagined. On arrival, all staff seemed to have been notified, and really did go above and beyond to cater for our son. We had dinner and breakfast there with no problem whatsoever. The breakfast buffet was a no go for us as there were nuts, peanut butter and Nutella out, but the staff were happy to provide freshly prepared fruit and yogurt from the kitchen as well as preparing a cooked option (pancakes), and kept bringing me the containers out to check the ingredients. I really have never experienced anything this good when attempting to eat out with my son. They made us feel so safe, providing an allergy matrix and an individual allergy card which had to be signed off by the chef before leaving the kitchen, and again by the server. What a great idea!
